TERMS AND CONDITIONS

It is the responsibility of the customer to measure furniture items before ordering, to ensure they can be successfully delivered through doorways and into the room of your choice. HSH is not required to take special orders into stock that cannot be delivered into the customers room of choice. In such cases HSH would leave the goods in another room. If for any reason windows or doors are required to be removed to ensure delivery into the desired location this becomes the sole responsibility of the customer and this should be done prior to the delivery teams arrival. Should the customer have any reservations regarding sizes and delivery access for delivery it is their responsibility to raise these issues at point of sale (ordering).

Upon placing an order for ‘Made to Order’ furniture the customer must pay for the goods in full or leave an agreed deposit. The remainder of the balance will need to be settled at the very latest the day prior to delivery or collection of the goods from one of our stores. It is the customers responsibility to ensure that the goods are paid in full prior to delivery, failure could result in the delivery date being rescheduled leading to a delay.

Upon placing an order for ‘stock items or Clearance goods’ the customer must pay for the goods in full at point of sale. The delivery of these goods should fall within 7 days of purchase or can be stored if agreed at point of sale for the agreed allotted time period. Charges may be incurred by the customer should the goods be in storage past the agreed allotted time.

Accepted payment methods are as follows: Credit or Debit Card, Cash, Building society cheque or finance by prior arrangement through or credit partner.

Delivery and lead times quoted by HSH must be taken as an approximate estimation. HSH is very much governed by manufacturing times and logistical issues. Where ever possible HSH will endeavour to make contact with the customer within the specified lead time quoted, to either make suitable delivery arrangements or inform of any reason for delay. Any circumstances beyond HSH control that make it impossible for us to fulfil our obligations with regards to lead times are not circumstances entitling the customer to cancel the sales contract.

HSH is not responsible for reimbursement of costs or damages of any nature that may be incurred as a direct effect of longer delivery times. On occasion HSH may be able to offer a loan item of furniture whilst awaiting the delivery of the goods. In these cases HSH would expect the goods to be returned in the same condition as delivered out.

Delivery:

A fixed delivery charge is applicable set out as £1 per mile from the closest store this charge includes free build and package removal, you may arrange your own collections from store in consultation with the store where the item was purchased.

Due to the nature of HSH commitment to deliver and assemble many types of furniture into many different homes with different delivery challenges we cannot give any set delivery times and will offer a date and either AM or PM slot, failed deliveries will be returned to base and a new delivery date will have to be made we will not return the same day as all deliveries are scheduled. Uneven floors may cause furniture to sit out of alignment and may require packing wedges to level some larger items. Whilst every effort is made by HSH to level the furniture, this cannot be guaranteed on uneven floors. HSH cannot undertake fixing products to walls or undertake joinery or electrical work. Our furniture is free standing and not fitted.

It is the customers responsibility to protect and cover flooring areas in preparation for the delivery of their furniture, due to health and safety regulations our delivery team cannot remove their safety footwear. Please also ensure that pictures, ornaments or any other obstacles are temporarily removed to enable swift and effective delivery and installation of your new goods.

It is essential that the customer checks the quality of all goods delivered to ensure that any defects are reported within 24 hours of receiving them. The size and specification of all products will have a tolerance, comfort and size which may vary slightly. When dealing with new upholstery or mattresses, settlement of fillings known as ‘hollowing’ is quite normal, by rotation and turning where applicable these components gradually will compress to an even level. This should not be taken as a sign of ‘failing’ materials. Natural wood products will have variation in grain and colour and the presence of knots. This is not an indication of a fault.

Any removal of old furniture should be quoted at time of purchasing the new product or when delivery is arranged. We do charge per item to landfill and would firstly suggest gifting the item to a registered charity or using the district council large item removal service, which is significantly cheaper than private landfill sites we have to legally use. CANCELLATION, REFUNDS AND RETURNS

Goods purchased in store:

In Accordance with the consumer rights act, should you place your order in store and then change your mind HSH allow up to 7 days from ordering to either cancel or amend your order. All ‘Made to order’ where we instruct our manufactures to make your goods in your chosen fabric, colour, design, wood or size etc. It is not possible to cancel these orders once our manufacturers have been instructed. This is due to the products bespoke nature that then cannot be resold under normal conditions.

Goods purchased in store from stock/clearance items. If you purchase an item or items from stock or clearance items and you simply change your mind, you may cancel your order at any time prior to delivery.

Goods purchased online or phone:

If goods are bought online or by phone where you have not had the opportunity to inspect or view the goods in store and you simply change your mind, you have the right to cancel the goods at any time between date of order and up to 14 days after delivery of the goods. This is in accordance with the consumer contracts regulations. Should you wish to return the goods it would be at your expense and it is your responsibility to take good care of the goods and return them in their original packaging to the nearest store location. We recognise that some customers may not have the means to do this so we can arrange a collection on your behalf, charges will apply in line with current 3rd party carrier costs unless within a 30 mile radius where our own team will collect for a £1 per mile charge. All charges will be made clear prior to collection and full payment of these costs will be expected before collection takes place.

Until the goods are received back to store premises they belong to the customer and therefore you are liable for any loss or damage occurred.

Bespoke furniture, special orders or bulk orders are not subject to the 14 day return policy as these items will have been ordered and made up to your specific requirements. Should you place an order necessitating a specific sofa, size, style, cover or colour and we enlist our manufacturer to make this for you will also fall outside of the 14 day return policy due to its bespoke nature. Due to their intimate nature and for hygiene reasons, divan sets, mattresses, pillows and mattress protectors cannot be returned or cancelled, unless in accordance with your legal rights( I.e confirmed defective by HSH)

Cancellation by HSH

We reserve the right to cancel any order if:

We have insufficient stock to fulfil your order request. We are unable to deliver to your area. One or more of the items ordered was priced incorrectly in store or on our website. Your payment transaction has not been authorised. If we do cancel your order we will contact customers either by phone, email or post to inform you of our decision. We will refund any monies due but will not be obliged to offer any form of compensation for disappointment suffered.

REFUNDS

Any refunds due will be paid back using the same method as your original payment, these will need to be authorised by a senior member of staff and will be processed within 7 days.
